The annual Taste for the Arts festival was the first weekend of June in downtown Hermann. The Hofgarten was full of booths and tents showcasing some of the best artwork in the state. Festival coordinator Joan Tries told me that she only brings in artists who are members of the Best of Missouri Hands organization, meaning they have gone through a review process and their work meets the organization’s high standards. A variety of artwork appeared at the festival, from paintings to pewter sculptures to handmade jewelry. With the good food, live music and sunny June weather, it was a good way to spend the weekend. If you missed it this year, consider coming into town for it next June.
