This is a refreshing slush for summer nights (day drinking allowed) taking advantage of seasonal crops such as Blueberries, Blackberries and Raspberries. Another fun way to jazz up this recipe is similar to what we do at the Hermann Hill Vineyard Inn– simply add champagne. Fill your cup with half Berry Wine Slush and half Champagne.
Berry Wine Slush
6 cups of berries (blueberries, raspberries and blackberries or 24 ounces of frozen mixed berry
1 (750mL) bottle of your favorite sweet red wine
2 cups ginger ale
2 tablespoons sugar
1.) Place all ingredients in a large blender and blend until combined
2.) Pour mixture into a large freeze friendly container and freeze for at least 6 hours
3.) Take out of freezer and break up with an ice pick or fork. Spoon into wine glasses, sit back and enjoy!
