So you’ve decided to plan your next staycation at Hermann Hill, but how do you choose between a luxury suite at the Vineyard Inn or a cozy Riverbluff Cottage?
Availability is primary, of course, but examining these two accommodations a little more thoroughly may make deciding how to enjoy ultimate relaxation a little easier.
Location
Hermann Hill’s boutique Vineyard Inn overlooks the picturesque town of Hermann from the west. With the Missouri River as a backdrop, each suite has a private balcony offering a stunning view of our Norton Vineyard and beyond.
Nestled along a bluff overlooking the Missouri River on the east side of town, sits our River Bluff Cottages. Hermann Hill’s wedding ceremony sites are located just down from the cottages, lending themselves to destination weddings perfectly.
Ambiance
Our guests describe both locations as romantic, luxurious and relaxing. Yet, the ambiance of the Vineyard Inn differs slightly from the Riverbluff Cottages.
There is an inclusive community feel at the Inn, with a cozy living room and the opportunity to dine with other guests. Here you can wander from your room to grab a margarita in the common area and discuss your trip plans with our knowledgeable and friendly staff.
But you don’t have to if you’d prefer to have a gourmet breakfast delivered to your room. We find that guests looking for the chance to socialize with locals and other travelers enjoy the community-feel that the Inn provides.
The privately secluded Riverbluff Cottages are just as the name implies: perched on a bluff overlooking the river. These charmingly well-equipped spaces offer ample solace and solitude for the travelers looking to truly get away from it all. You may or may not run into other guests during your stay here, although you are always welcome to visit the Inn’s common areas to mingle if you so chose.
Amenities
While both locations offer luxury amenities, such as jetted tubs, fireplaces, hot tubs and the option of in-room dining, there are some differences.
The cottages contain separate living and kitchen areas. If you desire to prepare your own meals, the kitchens are fully equipped. Each cottage offers an outside entrance, a private deck with a BBQ grill, a fire pit, and an outdoor hot tub. At the end of the day, relax and unwind in your six-foot round jetted tub.
Innkeepers Peggy and Terry, along with their fur babies, live at the Vineyard Inn and all can be seen mingling and dining with the guests. The appetizer bar and margarita machine located in the common living area are guest favorites. In addition to some of the afore-mentioned amenities, each luxury suite includes an infrared sauna, in-room coffee, tea, cocoa, refrigerator, king-size bed, fireplace, jetted tub and steam shower.
Dog-Friendly and Handicapped Accessible
Several of our Vineyard Inn rooms and all the Riverbluff Cottages are dog-friendly and handicapped accessible. Not only will you be pampered during your stay, but so will your fur baby with their own comfy bed, traveling food dish and special treats. Plus, many of the area’s wineries and distilleries will allow Fido to accompany you so long as they are on a leash.
Hermann Hill is dedicated to serving its guests with a pleasant and comfortable visit, regardless of physical disabilities. Although neither location has an elevator, we have two rooms with a no-step outside entrance and nearby parking. When booking your reservation, please discuss any disability needs with our friendly front desk associates.
Which Location Speaks to You?
Though both the Vineyard Suites and Riverbluff Cottages afford you the opportunity for complete privacy and complimentary room service, the Suites offer socialization with other guests at its finest.
