When we built the Riverbluff cottages we named them and introduced themes in the stained glass unique to each building.
· Cottage 1 Early Settlers
· Cottage 2 Steamboats
· Cottage 3 The Old Hermann Wharf
· Cottage 4 19th century Hermann
· Cottage 5 20th Century Hermann
We have always wanted to do a motif that reflects each rooms theme. We have recently had our talented painter Dana Poe come up with an array of paint colors that reflect the names, such as Cottage 401 the Charles Eitzen which has been painted in the colors of past historic stores because when Eitzen settled in Hermann he opened one of the first general stores in Hermann. Now that the painting of each cottage is done, we have begun looking for historic Hermann items from around the area with the help of our local on-line Newspaper County News Live to add to each cottage.
You will also see these cottage themes reflected both inside and out as Peggy and Terry get out to more auctions and here from the local residents of Hermann who would like to share these historic pieces with our guests. Terry will also be starting his own project in helping with the new design by building pieces such as a canoe for Cottage one-early settlers.
As always we welcome any suggestions from our guests, after all you are the reason Hermann Hill is AAA’s Best in the Midwest!
