Simon’s on the Waterfront is a good home-style restaurant on the banks of the Missouri River downtown. Simon’s serves burgers, steaks, chicken, seafood and German dishes, and their homemade desserts are mouthwatering. The main dining room is comfortable and the waiting staff is really friendly! Owner and head chef Steve Simon also operates a full bar next door to the restaurant that’s always hopping on the weekends.
I finally made it to Simon’s bar next to the restaurant. It was a busy Friday night; there were a lot of people there. I saw what looked like a lot of locals but there also seemed to be some out-of-towners there, too. Owner Steve Simon and his band played their rock music on the stage at the front of the bar. The drinks were very reasonably priced and the bartenders were nice. There was a $3 cover charge at the door. The interior of the bar was decorated in a water theme, with fish nets and water sport accessories on the walls. Neon lights cast different colors around the bar. There were a couple of arcade games near the door, including a boxing game that was very entertaining to watch people play. A few mounted TV sets had the ballgame on. There were tables and booths and a dance floor by the stage. You could order food from the restaurant next door. All in all, a good place to spend a Friday night.
