11/11 At a guest's suggestion we are installing combination storm/screen doors on the doors accessing all decks and patios.  This will allow our cottage guests to use the screen option to get fresh air without bugs flying though an open door.

10/11 Reclining Love Seats have been installed in all upper cottage living rooms, replacing the hide-a-beds.   Round, swivel chairs have also been added to create a more comfortable conversation setting.

9/11 Shelves have been installed outside the living room door for guests to place our CD players with iPod docking stations.   This allows guests using their hot tubs, grill, and dining on their deck or patio to bring play their music 

8/11  Surround sound has been added to nearly all cottage rooms.

7/11 We polled our guests in the August email newsletter as to whether they preferred the hide-a-beds or a reclining love seat in the cottage living rooms.  The overwhelming vote was to replace the uncomfortable hide-a-beds with love seats and a round swivel chair.   We've ordered the love seats for all upper cottage living rooms and the round swivel chairs for all cottages.

6/11 Guest can now chose from three different kinds of pillows including our newest addition-memory foam pillows!

5/11  Our Chef is now placing fresh baked welcome bread with cheese and herb butter in all cottages prior to your arrival

4/11  We now have a luggage cart in each bike storage shed for guests to use to haul their stuff to their cottage from the parking area

3/11  Continuous flow hot water heaters have been added to all cottage hot water loops, so each cottage has four hot water systems

1/11  CD players with iPod/MP3 docking stations are now in all cottages

11/10 Bird feeders have been installed outside the railing of every deck and patio for your enjoyment

5/10 Recycled plastic furniture is now in the gazebo including two Adirondack chairs perfect for watching the sunset!

6/10 Blenders have been added to all cottage kitchens. Margaritaville has arrived at Hermann Hill!

1/10 Early check-in with advanced notification is now possible for many of our cottage guests

Told from Lewis and Gracie's viewpoint

10/11  I made an important discovery today, the fish pond in front of the inn. Later, I learned that I was not supposed to be in the fish pond.  What's a water dog to do?  Lewis

9/11  Did the restaurant walk and video today and received dog biscuits at every stop.   Wish we could have hung out at the Hermann Wurst House a little longer.  We thought we had Mike talked into giving us some bratwurst samples.

6/11 Lewis arrived at Hermann Hill today.  Just when I thought I had Fred trained, I get this new puppy named Chocolate Lab puppy named Lewis. This could be my biggest challenge but the guests sure seem to love him.  Gracie

5/11 While the Inn now has three kinds of pillows in every room we still have the same beds and no pillows!

3/11 We were hanging around the Vidal patio when the guests brought out their welcome tray to enjoy on this exceptionally warm, sunny day.   The warm bread really smelled great and the cheese and grapes compliments their glasses of wine.   After an appropriate amount of begging Gracie and I each got a slice of cheese and bread.  Fred

12/10 We stopped by several restaurants while on the Hermann Hill three mile walk last week, as a video was made for our restaurant page. The best part about the whole experience was receiving dog biscuits at each restaurant. I wonder why that happened?

11/10 We are sleeping a lot better since they installed the silent, self-closing toilet seats at the inn. Now, if the deer could just move more quietly through the vineyard.........

6/10 Guests keep arriving earlier to check-in and as the official "greeters" it's affecting our early afternoon naps.

3/10 Ever since the new Douwe Egbert coffee bar was installed in the kitchen, guests are always carrying around go cups with coffee as they leave the inn. Our concern is that they still have a free hand to bring the dog biscuits from their rooms to feed us.
