The historic Concert Hall building on 1st Street is home to the newly reopened Barrel Bar and Restaurant. One half of the building is a sit-down restaurant that serves up seafood and chicken dishes and all sorts of burgers and sandwiches. The Barrel also has very good pizza, which they will continue serving past kitchen hours as long as the bar is open. The bar side of the building features a long, full bar, and fills up with people on weekends. Go there if you're looking for a few drinks, loud music and rowdy bartenders. One of the bar's unique features is a huge mounted television screen that you can play Wii video games on (sometimes they have tournaments).
Once the oldest continuously operating tavern West of the Mississippi River, the Concert Hall Barrel Bar has long been one of Hermann's most popular taverns that also features good food. They feature local Tin Mill Beer but also have a full compliment of local wines, spirits, and beer. Try their steak sandwich for lunch with a cold beer.
