Or you could use it to lock in 2010 rates for a 2011 staywith a "Same Time Next Year" reservation.
Our Hermann Hill guarantee means that you'll receive a gift certificate, no matter when you made your qualifying reservation.
This offer cannot be combined with last-minute discounts.
Our salute to veterans
Fifteen service members (13 retired and two on active duty) will be our guests on Veterans Day. Winners were selected in a drawing held at our local VFW post.
Our Veterans Day salute also will include a cocktail reception at the Chapel Pavilion, with music by John Berkemeyer's Band, "JB & Spam," during which we'll be accepting donations for the Franklin County Honor Flight program.
We’ve also organized a “mail call” for this event. If you'd like to send a message of support to one of the veterans staying with us, send them a letter or email c/o Hermann Hill. Your message waiting in their room when they arrive.
We plan to make this an annual event at Hermann Hill and will begin taking names next August for a drawing in September. It's our way of saying "thank you" to those who serve our country.
Meet the multi-talented Renee Poulsen
Long-time employee Renee Poulsen wears lots of hats around Hermann Hill. Renee began working in the Hermann Hill kitchen in June of 2001. Today she manages the housekeeping and event staff, keeps the books, and takes care of the front desk on weekends. What would we do without her? Renee and her husband, Jim, have two daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer.
Last month's "threads"winners share their favorite Hermann Hill moments
Michael and Heather of Merriam, Kansas, write . . .
We discovered Hermann Hill on the Internet and knew we had found our destination. Terry settled us into the amazing Vidal room, pointing out that obsessive compulsiveness can lead to things like towel and toilet tissue origami. Having just presented my husband with origami replicas of our wedding outfits for our “paper anniversary,” I felt I had found a kindred spirit.
Next Terry brought us welcome treats. Despite saying we weren’t hungry, we managed to devour it all. (Come on, the bread was warm.) He returned at 10:00 with ice cream and cookies. Everything was divine. After setting the alarm for sunrise, we retired to the sleigh bed where the sheets had a thread count approaching infinity. The royal treatment continued for the rest of our stay.
Lynn and Bob of Bloomington, Illinois, share a few of their favorite things . . .
