February at Hermann Hill

Black History Month at Deutschheim, throughout the month of February, focuses on local efforts in opposition to slavery.

Gumbo Bottoms —A Big Muddy Musical will be performed March 7-8 at the Showboat Theatre. Show times are Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m. For tickets call 1-800-932-8687.

Hermann's 30th Annual Wurstfest, March 28-29, will feature a sausage making competition, the popular weiner dog derby, sausage samples and entertainment.

Wurstfest Weekend at Deutschheim, March 28-29, will feature special exhibits and samples of locally made sausages.

The Second Annual Tour of Hermann Bike Event, April 17-19, will include time trials, a road race, and other events.

Hermann's first Wedding Trail was huge success. We had a great time meeting bridal couples and their families, who toured Hermann's wedding, catering, reception, and lodging venues. We're pleased to announce the first two winners of our Local Heroes award. The selection committee awarded Hermann Hill gift certificates to Michael Luaders and Ric Oppelt, both of the St. Louis area. Michael is a volunteer of Oasis International, a St. Louis based organization that helps refugees relocate. Ric is a fourth- and fifth-grade Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and mentor. Thanks to all of our guests who submitted such great nominations for our monthly recognition of their local hero.

A new massage page on our website describes a variety of spa services that are available right in your room. Both the Inn and Village Cottages now have portable massage tables for our guests' convenience.
