Happening at Hermann Hill

Hermann takes on a special glow at Christmastime. shoppers will find one-of-a kind holiday treasures at the Kristkindl Markt this weekend at Stone Hill Winery and next weekend at the Hermannhof Festhalle.

One of our favorite holiday traditions is the St. George Rectory Tour, a dazzling display featuring dozens of Christmas trees. This year's tour will be next Saturday and Sunday, December 12-13, from noon to 8:00 p.m.

Forty Hermann youngsters will sing sacred and secular songs at The Lights and Sounds of Christmas, Saturday, December 12, at St. George Catholic Church. Performances at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Know someone who's getting engaged over the holidays? Be sure to tell them about The Hermann Wedding Trail on Saturday, January 16. This is a great opportunity for couples and their families to taste and tour at the Hermann Hill Chapel and to see all Hermann has to offer as a venue for an elegant and affordable Wine Country Wedding.

David H. Martin, Jr., nominated by Leo and Meredith Kloeppel. David is a teacher and coach in Vienna, Missouri, whose professional dedication has made him a role model and inspiration for students and parents alike.

Jennifer "Scout" Gibson, nominated by Robyn Paczkowski of Wildwood, Missouri. Jennifer heads up a popular "Letters to Santa" fundraiser. Proceeds help support premature babies and their parents and the Ronald McDonald House.

We receive so many requests for our signature Hermann Hill recipes that we've posted an online cookbook, featuring 10 of our favorites, including those famous cookies we deliver to Inn guests at bedtime.

Sales Room Employee Award

This month's winner is Charlene Penn of Adam Puchta Winery, who will receive $50 in Hermann Bucks and a bottle of Hermann Hill Port Chocolate Raspberry Sauce. Chuck and Lisa Hill of Imperial, Missouri, winners of the guest card drawing, will receive a $100 Hermann Hill gift certificate.

Charlene Penn (Adam Puchta) and Ray Berlener (Stone Hill) are both multiple winners of this award. So this month we're having a face-off. December guests will vote to decide which of these great sales room hosts will claim the overall prize for 2009.
