April 2007 Newsletter

In our March newsletter we asked help from our guests to determine what sort of
cooking classes we should offer and
the response was overwhelming. We're enthused about our upcoming classes and
plan on tying the culinary classes with tours of local wineries, breweries, and
herb gardens. Many emailed and sent some wonderful suggestions and ideas for our
cooking classes. Here is a sample of some of the replies we received. Send us an
email if
you want to receive a special notice of our Fall class schedule.

I am thinking any kind of pasta would
be great. Wine can add so much to enhance the flavor of sauces - this seems like
a great idea. I anxiously await the news! Thanks ~Rebecca
I think the cooking class idea is
another great one..... a perfect fit with the kind of client you are getting out
there..... ~Dan
Cooking classes sound great! I predict
they will be popular among your guests.

I would like to know how to make tasty
elegant dishes without all the unusual spices normal recipes call for. Also what
to season vegetable with, so you don't just have boiled vegetables, and not just
the plain old Mrs. Dash. Desserts that sit light on the stomach. And one dish I
love but have to clue how to make is blackened fish. ~Christi
We also both love cooking classes &
have taken several together. This would be something we would enjoy. Our
preferences: Couples classes, Outdoor grilling, Cooking on a smoker, Cooking
with fresh herbs; cooking with wine, Anything seafood I'm seriously considering
building a brick oven, so anything about that would be fun Thanks for asking &
good luck with the project ~Suzanne
"...we will be staying for our 1 year
anniversary in the beginning of October and would like to learn to cook chicken
or beef with wine and any types of potato dishes with different ways to make
various vegetables and a nice desert. We would love to do that when we stay this
fall...." ~Curtis and Laura

I would be particularly interested in
holiday cooking, such as
Thanksgiving & Christmas. Recipes that don't have alot of unusual
ingredients that you wouldn't normally keep in your kitchen. We are
retired, so anytime would be good for us, but I am sure you would
have more people on weekends. We have not been a guest, but hope
to one day soon...maybe this will get us there. My husband enjoys
cooking also! ~Esther
I prefer hands on classes. I've
attended some in NYC and they were centered around a certain food (shrimp or
fresh vegetables, etc). Would love baking, pastry and bread classes.
