Hermann Wurst Haus is More Than a Deli

Not only can you purchase deli meat, sausage, and bratwurst from the deli counter, you can also eat at the Hermann Wurst Haus restaurant. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and has indoor and outdoor seating. Although the menu changes often, based on the freshest ingredients in the shop, it always includes bratwurst, hickory-smoked pulled pork, deli meat sandwiches, housemade side dishes and much more.

Wurstmeister Mike is a Master of His Craft

If you only know one person in the shop, the person to know is Wurstmeister Mike Sloan. Mike grew up watching his parents work at their meat processing plant in Swiss, MO, and eventually became the president and operating manager at his family’s business. Then, in 2011, he and his wife began their own business, the Hermann Wurst Haus. Mike is credited with creating all of the magnificent sausage and bratwurst combinations at the Wurst Haus. In fact, his recipes have won over 400 regional, state, and national awards!

Sausage Isn’t the Only Thing Made in House

Not only does the Hermann Wurst Haus produce sausage and brats, it also makes its own German beer. Each batch of beer is hand-crafted and locally produced. Wurstmeister Mike, who loves a good beer with his brats, worked closely with the Hermann Wurst Haus brewmaster to create four German-style beers. Each beer is specifically designed to pair with the 47 flavors of smoked brats made at the Hermann Wurst Haus. The four types of beer made just for the Wurst Haus are Wurstmeister Wheat, Steamboat Smoked Ale, Butcher’s Block Lager, and Golden Buck Ale. To try them all, visit the shop on a Saturday or Sunday when the Wurst Haus offers free tastings!
