"My wife and I first started coming to Hermann Hill following 911. We both work for the government and needed a break. We used our anniversary as an excuse also to find a temporary recluse. 501 is the upper unit of the Legacy Cottage named after Edward Kemper, who was a great inventor, photographer, horticulturalists, and Hermann's first Ford Dealer.

Train noise: Guests should know that train tracks are located at the base of the river bluff. Since Hermann is now has a quiet zone, there are few train whistles, but you will hear train noise and feel their vibration. If this is a problem, you should book our Vineyard & Inn suites and not our River Bluff Cottages.
