Sidney & Diane

"My husband and I came here to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.   It was a spur of the moment decision and I didn’t expect the accommodations to be so-o-o luxurious.   We thank you for the hospitality we’ve received all over town and especially at the Village!  P.S.  The potato-egg casserole was great!"

Laura & Shane - St Louis, MO

"We came for a romantic getaway.   It was great and very peaceful.  I did not have a clue because I thought we were just getting away from the stress at work.   But I was wrong.   Shane asked me to marry him the first night here.  He made dinner for us, poured champagne, danced in front of the fireplace, and got down on one knee.  Now, that’s romantic!"

What we did on our visit to Hermann Hill...

A note from Peggy and Terry...We like to save this lower cottage level for two couples booking together.

Located at the very top of the # 1 Early Settler's Cottage is our largest building, containing four units: 101, 102, 103, and 104. Each of the two floors has two separate suites that when occupied by couples who know one another share a common living room and kitchen but have separate bedroom, bathroom, and hot tub. Sometimes only 1 room is booked on each level and in that case each couple has total privacy.

103 is the lower east unit of Cottage # 1. It has a king size mansion bed, a fireplace with flat screen TV in front of the bed, aromatherapy fireplace beside a six foot round Jacuzzi, a steam shower with body sprays and rain forest head, and hot tub outside the patio reached through a door directly from the bedroom.

The kitchen and living room are to the west, though a locked door. The kitchen includes a large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, table and chairs, and utensils. The living room has a fireplace, flat screen TV, couch and door leading to the patio which in addition to the hot tub also has a gas grill, table and chairs.

Spectacular views of the Missouri River are to the north, and guests can view both the sunrise and sunset.

Fireplaces:  To conserve energy, both the aroma therapy and see-through  fireplaces will be shut off June 1st and will not be able to be lit for the remainder of the summer.

Train Noise:   Guests should know that train tracks are located at the base of the river bluff.  Since Hermann now has a quiet zone, there are few whistles, but you will hear train noise and feel their vibration.  If this is a problem, you should book our Vineyard & Inn suites and not our River Bluff Cottage .
